An Ordinary Place STUDIO - Hire Charges and Availability

Charges:

Hire rates for our compact and bijou studio space* are simple: £15 per morning (08:00 - 12:00) afternoon (13:00 - 17:00) or evening (18:00 - 22:00). If you book two adjoining sessions, there's no charge for the hour in between. All prices include VAT. A discount of 1/3rd applies for those in full-time education; volunteers, staff and 'Friends' of Stills.org; and subscribers to Agitate.

Note that groups of up to 6 persons can be accommodated in the studio space. Larger groups should be agreed with An Ordinary Place before booking.

Availability:

The studio can be booked for any of the sessions shown in green/bold in the calendar listing on this page. Email enquiries@anordinaryplace.com to book. NB: the premises won't necessarily be open if the relevant session has not been booked, so please phone ahead or email before paying any unscheduled visits!

*About the studio space:

It's small. The 'stage' is approximately 4x4m with a working area to the rear, plus a toilet, tea prep area, and additional floor space adjoining. It is intended as a place where anyone can test their creativity using a random collection of backgrounds, reflectors, umbrellas, a soft box, and some very old but incredibly robust Bowens flash units that are still capable of producing some wonderful lighting. The space is probably best suited to portraiture - from headshots to small groups of 3 or 4 - and also still life and product photography. If in doubt, tell us what you want to do and we'll see if we can accommodate you! Over the coming months and years we hope to learn about our studio users, their needs and preferences, in order to develop the facility for their benefit. Watch this space...
