Following on from the previous post, this is a closer view of the brooding Muirhouse tower block that is Martello Court. The Court has dominated the skyline of this part of Edinburgh since its completion in 1967.

At a height of sixty-four metres, this mighty block is the tallest residential building in Edinburgh and the fourth tallest building in the city. The three higher constructions are - or were - all places of religious observance; in contrast the Court became associated with a sky high (pun intended) crime rate in the early 70s which lead to the building being dubbed "The Terror Tower".

The building comprises twenty-three stories and contains eighty-eight individual apartments. The people on the top floor get quite a view of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth...
