The historic village of Cramond on the North West outskirts of Edinburgh was a hive of activity (and military occupation) during Roman times, and a centre of trade and industry in the 18th and 19th centuries, but these days its slightly tatty communications hub seems more consistent with Cramond's role as a sleepy suburb and home of the carefully maintained hanging basket..

Well, everyone has a mobile phone now anyway, eh..?.
