Silverknowes Golf Course is a council-owned facility and tends to be patronised by the more blue collar players of the game. As landscaped courses go, it's quite pretty and the views across the Firth of Forth can be magnificent. Except on this day when, even on the shorter holes, the flags had been obscured by the mist, and the fairly straightforward 6th hole appeared to have much of its fairway given over to a remake of The Fog. I saw a four-ball disappear into the murk, never to be seen again.... .
