Music photography is one of those genres that attracts wannabe photographers of all shapes and sizes. And it's not hard to see why: some performing artists are absolute photography gold. Match such a performer with an iconic venue and - boom - you have a photo that guarantees you music 'tog fame and fortune within a few lifetimes ...maybe.
Being of the 'slow and steady wins the race' school, I might have climbed this particular stairway to heaven (geddit ?!?!?) a little slower than most. Specifically, it's taken 37 years to go from a very sketchy b&w shot of Mike Oldfield performing at a freebie gig in the City of London to this rather more ..um, professional (you decide) image of London blues legend Errol Linton doing his thing at the 100 Club in October this year.
This image is now part of the Random Images gallery on this site and will, in due course, make its way onto my Shutter Hub portfolio page here: https://shutterhub.org.uk/photographers/ray-french/.
