Edinburgh's Torphicen Street is a busy inner city thoroughfare that runs between the grand facades of Palmerston Place and the super-modern International Conference Centre. Bicycles, cars and buses vie for space on the street, so this view - with a solitary cyclist and a lone pedestrian - serves to remind us that even town centres can sometimes be quiescent. But only sometimes, mind...
