Barging through

The Union Canal has its eastern terminus in Edinburgh's Lochrin Basin. This is the view looking along the canal towards the centre of the city through one arch in the cast iron parapet of the Walker Bridge at Polwarth Crescent. It is a view that has changed profoundly even in the last 30 years, let alone since 1896 when the bridge was built by engineer David G Proudfoot.
