Bags of bags

In the autumn of 2021 the echoes of the pandemic were still ringing loud. A visit to Portobello Road market was intended to be a reaffirmation that things were getting better and good times were just around the corner, but the market was as quiet as I'd ever known it, with few shops and stallholders sounding convinced about the prospects for a prosperous day hawking their wares to the passers-by. Happily, some vibrance and colour was still in evidence in this part of West London, thanks to the activities of local graffitti artists and a strategically placed bag stand.
