All in the timing

Hurrying past the Royal Scottish Academy on Edinburgh's Princes Street may betray you as a local, rather than a tourist (who would surely take some time to absorb the grandeur of this landmark Georgian building). But it's a pity: how often do we scoot past the familiar and everyday and fail to appreciate - or castigate, where appropriate - the efforts of artists and architects, stonemasons and engineers?

Or maybe this lady was just late for the bus..
